NoviOcean Novige AB · Company Update Event · Stockholm NoviOcean presents the Medi Wave 850H at the Swedish-Polish Chamber of Commerce NoviOcean was proud to present at the Swedish-Polish Chamber of Commerce this week, where our CEO Jan Skjoldhammer introduced the Medi Wave 850H to an engaged audience of business and industry leaders. The session generated significant interest — a full room, active discussion, and questions spanning technology, commercial deployment, and the broader offshore-energy opportunity in the North and Baltic Sea region. The future of offshore energy will not be single systems — it will be hybrid. We presented our vision for the next generation of offshore energy: an 850 kW floating hybrid platform combining wave, wind and solar in one integrated structure, delivering stable and continuous clean electricity at competitive economics. Later iterations are set for 3 MW and 5 MW sizes. The conversations reinforced what we are increasingly hearing across Europe: the offshore energy transition is accelerating. Poland’s Baltic Sea is being transformed by large-scale offshore wind. The logical next step is hybrid systems that improve stability, increase energy density per sea area, and reduce dependence on storage and backup generation. That is the problem NoviOcean exists to solve. From early wave-energy testing to full triple-hybrid offshore systems. Our NO3 prototype is currently deploying at our offshore test site near Stockholm — onboard visits welcome. Phase 1 commercial pilot deployment is targeted for 2026–2027. We look forward to continuing these conversations with partners, investors, and stakeholders across the region. Thank you to the Swedish-Polish Chamber of Commerce for the kind invitation. #NoviOcean #OffshoreEnergy #OceanEnergy #BalticSea #NorthSea #CleanEnergy #Hybrid #Wave #Wind #Solar #Sweden #Poland

Floating energy platform could change way you get power in future Article by www.foxnews.com/ – Oct 21, 2024 Revolutionizing renewable energy from sun, wind, waves Swedish company NoviOcean is making waves in the renewable energy sector with its innovative hybrid energy platform. This third-generation prototype combines wind, solar and wave power in a single floating structure, promising up to 1 megawatt of consistent clean energy around the clock. Small footprint, big impact Despite its relatively compact size of 125 feet by 30 feet, this renewable energy platform packs a powerful punch. Extending just 13 feet above the water surface and 39 feet below, it’s a David among Goliaths in the world of offshore energy production. How it works The NoviOcean platform harnesses three different energy sources: Solar Power: 7,535 square feet of solar panels generate up to 50 kW. Wind Power: Six vertical-axis wind turbines capture wind energy efficiently. Wave Power: A fascinating buoyancy-driven mechanism generates up to 650 kW from wave motion. The wave power secret The platform’s wave energy generator uses a clever piston system. As waves rise and fall, the platform traps air underwater, creating enormous buoyancy force. This force drives water through a turbine, generating electricity. Promising performance NoviOcean claims each full-size platform could generate about 3.5 gigawatt hours annually, enough to power roughly 324 average U.S. homes. With a capacity factor between 40% and 70%, it offers more consistent energy production than single-source renewables. The road ahead NoviOcean has successfully tested three prototypes and is now preparing for a full-scale pilot. The company aims to have a commercial deployment by 2031-2032. While the initial levelized cost of energy is higher than established renewables, NoviOcean projects significant cost reductions as production scales up. The platform’s ability to generate power from multiple sources could prove valuable for grid stability and peak demand periods. Kurt’s key takeaways As the world races to decarbonize and meet growing energy demands, innovations like NoviOcean’s platform could play a crucial role. Its ability to provide consistent power and maximize energy production per square foot of ocean space is particularly appealing. If NoviOcean can overcome the initial hurdles and prove the technology at scale, it could become a significant player in the offshore renewable energy market. Original article: https://www.foxnews.com/tech/floating-energy-platform-could-change-way-you-get-power-future F.A.Q. NoviOcean’s innovative Hybrid Energy Converter (NHEC) harnesses the combined power of wave, wind, and solar energy. This groundbreaking technology delivers efficient and cost-effective renewable energy, paving the way for a sustainable future. How efficient is NoviOcean Hybrid Energy Converter (NHEC)? NoviOcean HEC delivers double the power output per sea area compared to wind power. Its hybrid design (wave, wind, solar) and efficient use of infrastructure lead to a lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) in early evolution. What are the advantages of Noviocen HEC? Noviocean HEC is easy to produce, install, and maintain due to its modular design and well-proven parts. It boasts a low environmental footprint and superior power-to-weight ratio compared to offshore wind. Why invest in NoviOcean? NoviOcean offers competitive development costs, with LCOE reaching €100/MWh after only 100 units deployed, then lower. Investment benefits include attractive incentive programs, expected high profits, participation in a meaningful and scaleable clean energy solution, and not the least, extremely positive marketing effects for partners and users. What is the current project stage? NoviOcean is in Stage 4 (TRL 7), developing a 1:1 scale pilot to demonstrate real-world performance and pave the way for commercial deployment. What are NoviOcean’s short-term goals? NoviOcean aims to deliver stable ocean energy at a lower cost than offshore wind and secure 0.5 GW of contracted capacity by 2030. What are NoviOcean’s long-term goals? NoviOcean envisions having 10 GW deployed by 2050, capturing 25% of the EU’s 2050 target and generating €30 billion in sales within Europe alone. The global market potential is three times larger.

Hybrid energy raft could power 1,000 homes a day with wave, wind, solar Article by Interestingengineering.com – Oct 03, 2024 The power plant is a 38-meter raft with wind turbines and solar panels, generating about 1 MW with a 40% capacity factor. A Swedish renewable energy firm is aiming to further clean energy generation with its innovative Hybrid Energy Converter (HEC) that harnesses the combined power of wave, wind, and solar energy. NoviOcean’s HEC generates double the power per sea area compared to wind. It uses a hybrid wave, wind, and solar design to lower the levelized cost of Energy (LCOE) early on. The firm claims that HEC’s modular design and proven components make it easy to produce, install, and maintain, with a low environmental impact and higher power-to-weight ratio than offshore wind. “Our NoviOcean machine maximizes renewable energy by combining wave, wind, and solar power in a single solution, ensuring energy generation even when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing. Each unit can power over 1,000 households a day,” said Jan Skjoldhammer, Founder and CEO of NoviOcean The Swedish company is now seeking €12 million to advance the NoviOcean device to full-scale production and increase its technology readiness level (TRL). Hybrid power innovation NoviOcean combines wave, wind, and solar power to deliver a hybrid renewable energy solution. Last autumn, NoviOcean won the German Startup4Climate competition for its innovative wave power plant. Skjoldhammer hopes to scale the solution in collaboration with offshore wind farms, having accepted the award alongside Cemvision, a fossil-free cement manufacturer. The jury was impressed by the synergy of wave, wind, and solar energy, as each complements the other. The NoviOcean wave power plant resembles a 38-meter-long rectangular raft. It lies along the waves, with a water-filled cylinder underneath connected to the seabed via a piston rod and cable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=denflW-c0BI Anchors keep the plant in position. On top of the raft, six vertical wind turbines generate 300 kW, complemented by solar panels producing 50-80 kW, for a total output of around 1 MW. The average capacity factor is about 40 percent. The wave power plant operates like a garden pump. As the raft rises, water is pumped up and flows at high speeds to a Pelton turbine, generating electricity. The design uses proven technology with innovative elements, including a patented system in 20 countries. Sustainable power NoviOcean’s wave power technology, developed over several years, has been tested in wave pools and a real environment near Stockholm. A small version powers homes on Svanholmen island, proving the concept works at sea. On one square kilometer, 15 wave power plants can generate 15 MW, compared to offshore wind’s 10 MW. Combined, they can produce 25 MW, sharing the costs of the sea area and transmission cable. According to the firm, the hybrid approach delivers more consistent energy, as waves generate power for days after the wind subsides. Additionally, wave plants can be placed closer to shore without visually disturbing the coastline. NoviOcean’s next step is launching a full-scale pilot project, seeking partnerships with offshore wind companies to build a hybrid plant with wave turbines, wind turbines, and solar cells. Due to insufficient wave activity in Swedish waters, potential sites include the coasts of North and South America. However, Sweden could still benefit from electricity generated off Norway’s coast, where waves and wind are ideal, supplying green energy to regions like Östersund and Karlstad. The firm sees immense potential, but funding remains a challenge. NoviOcean has secured SEK 30 million in grants from the EU and Sweden and a green loan from Almi. The recent Startup4Climate win adds one million kroner. Skjoldhammer is looking forward to advanced funding and partnering with a wind power company to advance the technology further. Jan’s story is a testament to how passion, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability can drive meaningful change in the world The Beginnings of a Visionary Leader Can you tell us something about yourself, your early life, and your education? Jan is a former Airline Captain with a business degree. In addition to being a display pilot and instructor, he has seen many of his ideas transformed into successful products by other entrepreneurs. From Airline Captain to Renewable Energy Pioneer What led you to your current profession or field of expertise? After a successful venture in large-scale real estate investment, Jan decided to focus his time and resources on the Hybrid Ocean Energy Converter. He secured three patent families across 20 countries and advanced the technology to TRL 7. His motivation was fuelled by witnessing the unsustainable reliance on fossil fuels during long-haul flights and the success of several of his earlier invention ideas, which became market successes 15-25 years after he conceived them. The last of these ideas waiting to be realized was NoviOcean. Jan Skjoldhammer & Douglas A-26 Invader after Atlantic crossing, 1988 Previous slide Next slide An Overview of NoviOcean’s Mission Can you provide an overview of the business and its presence in the target market? NoviOcean is at the forefront of renewable energy innovation with our Hybrid Energy Converter, a project combining Wave, Wind, and Solar power. We hold three patent families across 20 countries and have reached TRL 7. Our design harnesses ocean energy to produce electricity while addressing the intermittency issues of wind and solar, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and costly battery storage. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to green power by offering solutions that deliver exceptional performance, lower LCOE, and up to 3-40 times the output compared to competitors. This positions us to significantly contribute to the offshore power industry’s Net-Zero goals. NoviOcean’s Unique Offerings What does your business offer in the current competitive market? Before diving into our offerings, it’s important to understand the challenges the global energy sector faces: Electrical consumption is expected to triple over the next two decades. Renewable energy is projected to account for 70% of total electricity generation by 2050. Current renewable sources like wind and solar struggle with energy intermittency, leading to a 40% energy gap and continued reliance on fossil fuels or expensive battery storage. NoviOcean’s Solution NoviOcean’s Hybrid Ocean Energy Converter effectively addresses this intermittency challenge, providing a more stable energy output. Key benefits include: Exceptional Efficiency: NoviOcean delivers an average output of 30 MWh/Ton, equivalent to 3,500 MWh/unit, enough to power 1,050 households. This is 3-40 times more efficient than competitors. High Return on Investment: With an estimated average output of 400 kW and a total investment of €12M to reach TRL7 (€3M already invested), our technology offers an average output of 31 kW per €M invested—5-50 times higher than competitors. To put in perspective, the most well-known and prominent competitor in this sector has spent 8 x the amount we need to complete TRL 7, for ¼ to 1/5´th the average output. Market Valuation: NoviOcean’s estimated output of 400 kW, divided by the valuation at the current funding round, shows a factor of 16, making it the best value in the market—4-40 times higher than competitors. Stable Energy Output: Our technology provides consistent energy, particularly when wind is low, capturing up to double the wholesale price. Innovative Design: NoviOcean is “The Hydro Power Plant at Sea”, built on simple, proven components, including a Pelton turbine, hydraulic cylinder, and floating body. Hybrid Option: Our 1 MW unit combines Wave (650 kW), Wind (300 kW), and Solar PVs (50 kW), benefiting significantly from shared infrastructure. Energy Density: Our system achieves 15-21 MW per km², double or more vs that of Offshore Wind, suitable for co-location or standalone operation. Cost Efficiency: Our lightweight, modular design uses off-the-shelf components, aiming for an LCOE below €100/MWh after producing just 100 units, below €70/MWh after 200 units, then lower. Generous grants and incentives make it profitable even at this early stage. Environmental and Economic Advantages: Double the Energy Output per Sea Area: This reduces the impact on adjacent industries like shipping and fishing and cuts CO2 emissions by up to 10,800 tons per unit annually. Stable Baseload: Our
