Ten days across Dubai and India
Ten days, two countries, one subject: whether a hybrid wave, wind and solar platform can be built and financed where the electricity is expensive and the coastline is long.
In October 2025 NoviOcean’s founder and CEO, Jan Skjoldhammer, spent ten days between Dubai and India. The purpose was simple: meet the people who finance and operate energy infrastructure in regions where electricity is expensive, demand is growing and there is a great deal of coastline.
Dubai
Jan attended the 11th Annual International Business Forum, hosted by Sayyed Abbas Shah, which brings together people from the energy and investment community.
During the visit he was invited to the office of H.E. Dr. Juma Madani, Chairman of Al Matiya Investment and Al Awad Petroleum, for a longer discussion. The conversation covered how hybrid offshore generation might fit the UAE’s long-term sustainability objectives, and what a first project in the region would involve. It was a discussion. Nothing was agreed and nothing is signed.
India
From Dubai, Jan continued to India at the invitation of Dr. Biswajit Roy, to the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2025. That leg — the ministerial meeting, the utility and offshore-operator conversations and the research-institute discussion — is covered in its own piece: India’s momentum in clean offshore energy.
Where this leaves the pilot
Across both countries, four parties management estimate have expressed interest in participating in the financing of a first full-scale NoviOcean pilot. That is the accurate description: expressions of interest, in discussion. No financing agreement is in place, and none of these conversations changes the engineering sequence.
That sequence is fixed and dated. The NO3 triple-hybrid demonstrator is the current stage (2026). The full-scale Medi Wave 850H pilot is the next major phase, planned for 2027–2028 at TRL 7–8. projected What these meetings affect is who builds and funds it, and where.
If your organisation operates in a high-cost coastal market, the route is Book a Meeting; the financing position is on Investor Relations.
