InvestorNytt writes about NoviOcean

The Swedish investor publication InvestorNytt covered NoviOcean in April 2025, under a headline about producing offshore energy at a lower cost than wind.

In April 2025 the Swedish investor publication InvestorNytt wrote about NoviOcean, framing the story around cost: offshore energy produced for less than wind.

That headline is InvestorNytt’s, not NoviOcean’s. It is worth recording the coverage and also worth being precise about what the company itself publishes, because a headline compresses and an engineering claim should not.

What NoviOcean publishes about cost

Customer cost is published as a staged figure, not a single number, because it moves with deployment volume:

  • Stage A — commercial pilot, unit 1. High public support, offshore validation, first full-scale system in the water: approximately 4–8 c€/kWh. projected
  • Stage E — fully commercial scale, 200–1,000 units. Minimal subsidies, larger batch orders, market economics: 2–5 c€/kWh. projected

These are unit-level generation costs, excluding site-specific infrastructure such as grid connection, export cabling or local permitting. The whole staged roadmap, and the assumption behind the learning curve, are on Investor Relations.

Where the cost argument comes from

Not from a cheaper generator. From sharing everything that is not the generator: one floating structure, one mooring, one export cable, one lease area and one maintenance route carrying wave, wind and solar together, for the energy of offshore wind from the same sea area. modeled The engineering behind that is on Technology.

A note on comparisons

NoviOcean does not publish detailed comparisons against named competitors. The benchmarking work exists, it is dated, and it is shared in meetings where the assumptions can be examined rather than as a graphic on a web page. If you want to interrogate it, book a meeting.

Want the benchmarking, not the headline?

The comparative study is dated, detailed and shared in conversation, where the assumptions can be argued with.
