Going Green Media visits NoviOcean in Sweden
A camera crew came to the Swedish test site to see the hybrid platform for themselves — wave, wind and solar carried on one floating structure, generating close to the coastal towns and cities that would buy the power. The machine filmed in this piece is the 1 MW class platform now named Alta Wave 1000H.
Combining three sources on one structure is what narrows the gaps in output across changing weather; it does not remove them. What a given site would actually produce depends on its wave climate, wind, irradiation and load profile.
